Gentle in disposition and appearance, the Andean Alpaca comes in two basic varieties: Suri and Huacaya. Newly introduced to the United States, the Alpaca is a one-coated animal-lacking the guard hair of the llama. The fiber is greaseless, fine and smoother, stronger and much warmer than wool.
