The Jacob sheep is a very unique and interesting breed. Not only are both sexes usually horned, they could have double - meaning 4 horns. And if that is not enough, you will find some Jacob sheep even with 6 horns. Very impressive. Their fleece is brown and white patched which sets them also apart from other sheep breeds. Although the origin of the Jacob sheep breed - sometimes also called the Spanish sheep - is not known with any certainty, there is this one strong belief, that this breed originally came from Mesopotamia (nowadays Iraq) and were named after Jacob, the Hebrew Patriarch from the Book of Genesis.
