Crown Mountain Farms Animal Fibers - Llama
First introduced in the U.S. in the early 1800's, it was not until the 1990's that interest in llama fiber soared. Originally bred for use as pack animals by native Andean peoples in South America, the llama is still used for this purpose by some people in the region. Llama fleece has no lanolin; it is a naturally hypoallergenic fiber excellent for making clothing for those normally allergic to other fibers. In addition, llama fiber is quite warm, lightweight, and does not shrink.
