Deborah Doyle Owner/Artist of Asciano Fiber Arts Tools

Deborah Doyle created Asciano in 1985. It has grown from her one-person company to a fabulous small business. Deborah's enthusiasm and unique style are all part of what has made this company successful. She will joyfully discuss her participation in the lives of the people whom she employs (knowing each of them, their children and grandchildren by name), thus making Asciano far more than just a "business." Each employee has found a place in Deborah's heart as well.

The needles are created of solid rosewood, in the volcanic highlands of Central Mexico by Deborah and the extended family whom she has trained. The photo here shows most of her staff. Deborah built a woodshop in Mexico, transferred her tools and supplies and set out to teach her staff how to hand turn these exquisite knitting needles, crochet hooks and hairpicks. Deborah's exacting standards are reflected in each piece that is produced. This company is proud to offer a lifetime guarantee for each of its needles.

Asciano has provided its staff with respect, economic stability, and social cohesiveness, while creating beauty. Deborah continues to spend several months each year in Mexico, the remaining months she spends on a small island in Western Washington. We are fortunate that our paths have crossed hers!
